Safeguarding Policy for Simply Guitar At Simply Guitar, we are committed to creating a safe and positive learning environment for all our students. As part of this commitment, we have developed a safeguarding policy to ensure that we take all necessary steps to protect the welfare and safety of our students. This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, and anyone working with or on behalf of Simply Guitar. Designated Safeguarding Officer Greg Bakke has been appointed as the Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) for Simply Guitar. He is responsible for ensuring that our safeguarding policy is followed and that all safeguarding concerns are dealt with appropriately. If you have any concerns regarding the safety or welfare of a student, please contact Greg immediately. Policy Statement Simply Guitar is committed to: Promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults Providing a safe and welcoming environment for all our students Providing training and support to all staff and volunteers to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities with regards to safeguarding Ensuring that all students are treated with respect and dignity and are protected from all forms of abuse, neglect, and exploitation Taking appropriate action in response to safeguarding concerns and following relevant legislation and guidance Staff and Volunteer Responsibilities All staff and volunteers at Simply Guitar have a responsibility to: Promote the welfare and safety of our students Be aware of the signs and symptoms of abuse, neglect, and exploitation Report any safeguarding concerns to the DSO immediately Attend safeguarding training regularly to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities and best practices Safeguarding Procedures If a safeguarding concern is raised, we will follow the following procedures: The DSO will be informed immediately The DSO will investigate the concern and take appropriate action All safeguarding concerns will be recorded and kept confidentially We will work in partnership with relevant agencies to ensure the safety and welfare of the student Review This safeguarding policy will be reviewed regularly to ensure it remains up-to-date and in line with best practices and legislation. Q: I've booked a lesson. Can I reschedule it?

Yes, you can reschedule by visiting Manage My Bookings but only if the lesson is over 1 week away. We do not offer rescheduling or cancelling for lessons under 1 week from schedule.

Q: What happens if I need to cancel or rearrange?

You may cancel or reschedule a lesson with at least 1 week's notice without penalty. This allows us to offer the timeslot to other students who may be interested in booking it. If you cancel a lesson with less than 1 week's notice, the lesson will be forfeited and cannot be rescheduled. You can accrue a maximum of 4 lessons to be rescheduled at a different time. This means that if you need to reschedule more than 4 lessons, you will forfeit the remaining lessons.

Q: What happens if we miss a lesson?

If a student misses a lesson due to illness or a school trip, the lesson is not refunded or rescheduled. In the unlikely event of a teacher absence we will rearrange the lessons for all students and come in on a different day.

Q: How much are the lessons and how do I pay?

1-2-1 Lessons (30 Minutes) - £30 per lesson 1-2-1 Lessons (20 Minutes) - £20 per lesson Group Lessons (30 Minutes, 3 in a group) - £10 per lesson Every student gets a free trial lesson, following this we bill in advance of the half term starting.

Q: How do the lessons work?

We do group lessons or 1-2-1 lessons at this school. They take place during the school day and we rotate the lessons so the kids don't miss the same lesson each week. We follow the school term dates!
